Activity Report January 2005
- 5-Acre lot in West Orange:
City Council is currently in litigation to
condemn property in order to aquire it for open space. Tract contains a
small stream and steep slopes in a forested area similar in look to the
Seton Hall Prep site.

Essex County group is planning a general meeting
featuring Bruce Kersher at the West Orange Library.
- Essex County Environment Center:
Ron Pate from the singles section and
Dave Ogens (conservation co-chair) and I will meet with the County to
discuss a Partnership with helping them out with outings (Hikes and Canoe
trips) at the Environmental Center
- Passaic River Project:
Representatives from the county and experts in the
history of the Passaic River had their first meeting. Looks very promising
that a display/exhibit will be extraordinary.
- Hill Top Access:
The developer was denied permission by the Cedar Grove
Planning Board to build a retaining wall at one of the public accesses to
the Hill Top Reservation.
