Activity Report

The Essex County Group has been working on delaying several land use developments in West Orange and Nutley of all places. Our secretary Billi Schloss has been invited to participate with the Milburn Environmental Commission! We are looking at the ATV issue in State parks and grappling with what to do about their illegal use in sensitive areas. We are working with the Tri-state Transportation Campaign concerning the truck use in Newark and surrounding communities and look to pursue the NJDOT to improve Route 21 and stop their plans to widen the road to six lanes making it usable for more traffic and larger trucks. We are working with David Yennoir at supporting a bottle bill starting in Essex County first and then the state.
