Activity Report September 2003
- PARKS COMMISSION MEETINGS:
Pat forwarded a message to Laura about the Pole Farm: There was a presentation by two people before the Parks Commission with plans for a Hero's Park on 5.5 acres on the corner of Cold Soil and Blackwell Roads. The message states, "It is part of the master plan for Mercer Park Northwest that also includes the Hopewell-Lawrence trail…" This is a bit odd because when Laura spoke with Donna Lewis of Mercer County, Donna said that there is no master plan for the park.
We need to ask if there really is a master plan, why we haven't seen it, what the limit is for development on the site, and if the Pole Farm is really the best place for this.
- PRINCETON RIDGE:
Ed contacted the DEP regarding our letter to them about the missed wetlands on Intell's LOI. The DEP responded that they are sending someone out to check the line and have asked Intell's consultants to re-delineate the wetlands on the property.
- PENNS NECK AREA EIS:
Laura spoke with Andrea Lubin, from the Project Team, regarding the release date of the EIS. Andrea said that it definitely won't be released before the November election. Laura also asked that the Project Team do what it can to avoid releasing the Penns Neck Area EIS at the same time that the Army Corps releases the Route 92 EIS. Andrea said she'd see what she could do and get back to Laura by e-mail.
- KLOCKNER ROAD WOODS:
Ed and Laura walked the site with Rocky Swingle, checking the wetlands line. The vegetation was confusing (wet understory, but fac and up canopy), the soils sandy, and the water table well below 18 inches. Ed will write a letter suggesting that the DEP verify the line because of the nebulous vegetation.
The delineation is to determine the value of the land, because Hamilton Township appears to be on the way to purchasing the property.
- ELM COURT:
We received another bill from Bill Potter, with even more charges that weren't there before. Ed contacted Mary, who said she'd contact Tim Patrick-Miller and Richard. Ed wants to meet with Bill Potter, George Denzer, Laura, and Mary to straighten out the billing once and for all. The more money we put in, the more we owe, it seems.
Since we have some money in our Group account, we can give some towards the bill, but we need to straighten out the bill first.
- ROUTE 92:
There is still no word about the EIS release date.
