MAJOR ISSUES

Save the Delaware and Raritan Canal Commission. Currently the central NJ region is facing the potential loss of the D&R Canal Commission, the highly effective land use agency protecting drinking water quality for 1.5 million New Jerseyans and preserving the historic and visual integrity of the D&R Canal Park for generations to come. Your voice is essential to keep the DRCC functioning fully! Make your comments to Gov. Christie at http://www.state.nj.us/governor/contact/. For more information email Terry.

Natural gas production and “fracking” pose threats to the water supply in the Central area and to the environment in New Jersey and the Delaware River Basin. Yet the DRBC has proposed rules that prematurely allow drilling that does not comply with federal Clean Air and Water standards and will lack EPA input. Get the facts from Delaware Riverkeeper Network and take action at http://www.delawareriverkeeper.org/act-now/urgent-details.aspx?Id=64.

Stop the PurGen Coal Plant in Linden to prevent ocean dumping and air pollution. Check out these new video's about Purgen: Env Justice in Linden (3.4 minute) and Get Involved.(90 second)
