- A decade from now, when people look back on Live Earth, what they will remember isn't what happened during the show - instead my hope is they remember what happened after. More than 2 billion of us joined together on 7.7.07, and with one voice, demanded an end to the climate crisis. We now have the responsibility to carry this movement forward and force our leaders to take action. The first step is to make sure every single person possible joins us. If you haven't already, please sign the Live Earth Pledge. Then email five of your friends and ask them to sign the pledge by visiting:

- Washington D.C. Rally for Climate Action Day
- In March, thousands took buses to Washington D.C. for this critical day of action. Alaska has proven to be ground zero for global warming. Temperatures are rising around the world, but Alaska is experiencing the most dramatic increases, and as temperatures warm, sea ice and permafrost melt, radically altering entire ecosystems. The results could be devastating to Alaska. With the loss of its primary habitat, the polar bear could become extinct by the end of the century. As wildlife becomes more scarce and hunting becomes more difficult, Alaska Native communities could lose their subsistence lifestyle and culture. And all of the public land that we love, including the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, could change beyond recognition. That’s why Alaska Wilderness League led a diverse coalition of organizations and companies in sponsoring Climate Crisis Action Day. For Alaska and for the planet, we must act now. For more information contact Julia Shaw at Julia@alaskawild.org or www.ClimateCrisisAction.org
