Get beyond Coal!

Come Speak Out at the EPA Mercury Hearing!

On Tuesday May 24th there will be an EPA hearing in Philadelphia on the proposed rule to limit mercury and other air toxics emitted from power plants. This is the first federal rule to limit mercury pollution and will have a significant impact on coal and oil plants around the U.S. Come to the public hearing and show your support for clean air protections! Sign up for the hearing now!

King Coal and Big Oil: making us sick for far too long!

King Coal and Big Oil have been making us sick for far too long. The dirty energy industry has fought Clean Air Act requirements to reduce power plant pollution for decades. It's time to stand up to polluters and defend public health. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently proposed a clean air protection for life-threatening hazardous air toxics, such as mercury and arsenic. Air toxics are dangerous pollutants which cause serious health problems including asthma, respiratory disease, cancer and pre-mature death. Mercury, a particularly harmful air toxic, builds up in the environment and contaminates the fish we eat. Mercury exposure is of greatest concern to pregnant women and young children. It can cause developmental disabilities and neurological disorders in developing fetuses.

These new EPA protections will help prevent disease and hospitalizations, reduce public health costs and save lives. Support these EPA life-saving measures and send your comments to Administrator Lisa Jackson NOW.
