Jan 28:Pete Bacinski
head of Sandy Hook Audubon, will treat us to a bird’s eye view of the region.

February 25:
Richard Webster, Legal Director, Eastern Environmental Law Center, will speak on "Can Nuclear Power be part of the Solution to our Energy Crisis" ? Mr. Webster spoke to the Princeton Sierra Club in Oct. about Oyster Creek, and may incorporate some of that material in this presentation. Q & A will follow.

March 24:
Amy Goldsmith, State Director of the New Jersey Environmental Federatiion (NJEF) will speak on a "Clean Communities" program . She is encouraging municipalities to adopt this, and will contrast this with the Sierra Cool Cities Initiative it is often confused with. Q & A to follow.

April 28:
Lisa Sims, Building Performance Institute certified contractor, will speak on "Energy Efficiencies in the Home." She will describe a common energy audit and cost effective home energy 'upgrades'. She'll list the 10 easist things to do to reduce energy bills. Q & A to follow.

May 19 (because the 24th is a Holiday):
George Moffatt, Littoral Society and Excom member, will discuss the issues behind the "how much" and "in what ways", if at all, Sandy Hook should be commercialized in order to "save it".

Mid July: Jersey Shore Sierra Picnic.
(Likely at Turkey Swamp County Park, Freehold, NJ.) Details on the website closer to the event.

October 17, 2008, 8pm: Special program
Coffee House at the Women’s Club Mansion at 164 Broad St. in Red Bank. Dianne Doolittle and her many musical friends will supply the live music. Starts at 8 PM.

October 27, 2008
Jim Peck, Director of Education for the American Littoral Society, will give a talk on Discovering Natural New Jersey. He will take you on a virtual tour of easily accessible natural places throughout the state. He’ll let you know where to touch billion-year-old rock, scoop diamonds off the beach, view orchids and carnivorous plants or stroll through the world’s highest Atlantic white cedar bog.
